Thank you for this content
Hello Jon, thank you very much for your videos. I already read your book co-creating change and now I am reading it for fragile patients. Both are greats! I wonder if this same way of addressing anxiety is taken care of when there is activation of the sympathetic system? Does the activation of the sympathetic system correspond to the smooth muscle pathway or striated muscles?? Thank you so much!
Hello Jon A letter from you to Amir Maneshi has been circulated in Iran. I wanted to know ... this letter is really from you or not
If you look out the window and see a train coming, don't pull down the shade!
Part 2?
wowww great video, thank you so much!!
Chemical imbalance? No such thing...that's been debunked some time ago. This video should be taken down.
Excellent learning pearls! Thanks Jon for making these videos.
Please come back. We need you..
Jon is the man!
maximum respect. this videos wild~!
ITS A DEFENSE!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Dear Jon, I express my gratitude for your elucidation; it has afforded me a heightened comprehension.
Love this book. It’s really changed the way I practice
Brilliantly put! I'm excited for an upcoming short term training webinar on this modality and hence I'm here on RUclips looking it up to curb my pre-lecture curiosity
Thank you I am not a therapist but this has helped me a lot in my life and the defenses I use.
I have subscribed. Is there a link for part 2 please?
I'm curious about this assertion that pt responses to anxiety identification/regulation interventions may only be interpreted in two ways. The pt may defend against anxiety regulation. He may acknowledge and subsequently regulate the anxiety. Isn't it at least possible that the clinician may be misattributing an in-the-moment observation of the pt's behavior to anxiety? Perhaps the pt is telling the truth when he denies experiencing anxiety in that moment, and by insisting that the anxiety is undeniably present as evidenced by my expert behavioral observations, I'm ultimately robbing the pt of the opportunity to define his own experiences. In such a case, it seems to me that I'd be setting the pt up to accept an experience that was non-existent rather than unconscious, a kind of experiential gaslighting that is ultimately countertherapeutic.
Seems this can also apply to addictive processes.
Thank you for this video, it's truly Amaziiiing, insightful, precise & life-changing!!!
The bookcase in the background says I have read many books . I dont want to project things but I think you have to consider what is behind you when you make a video.😊
You nailed it.
I have never heard anyone talk about projection of will. That one was brilliant. What a great way to keep the client connected to their need for autonomy.
So, when you say that anxiety is “too high”, too high for what? What would ISTDP make of a phenomenon like the following: “ Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is an unabashed pre-fight puker, as he recently revealed on Twitter that he vomits before each match. The MMA fighter has enjoyed a fair amount of success with puking as a part of his routine, as his overall record currently stands at 27 wins against 6 losses.”
If this was a problem for Donald, AKA ego dystonic, he could come for therapy to increase his anxiety tolerance so this doesn’t happen. Just my 2 cents 🥰
Come back, your videos are great.
Thanks dr javad karimi for introducing you to me, I heard a lot about you and effort that you put into this project Thank you
You made it a bit difficult to understand
I haven’t understood how you treat psychosomatic issues that are a discharge of anxiety in the parasympathetic nervous system.. I’ ve always suffered from ocd and 7 years ago I started to suffer from anxiety and restlessness… but 4 years ago, after a traumatic episode with THC I had a panic attack and 10 days later I started to feel my head super heavy and painful.. it has been 4 years with this extremely strong symptom… and when it gets better, extreme anxiety and restlessness’s begins. I feel it in my belly…. Like a bomb of energy that is going to explode and the only way in which I calm down is run.. but it’s exhausting!!! I can’t understand if it’s a defence mechanism or not .. because it gets worse when I’ m alone or not busy.. while after the efforts anxiety stops and the heavyness in my head and strong burning headaches begins and I need to tilt my head forward.. I basically live with my head down … it’s a way in which my muscles and nerves discharge the tension That I have when I have anxiety… I don’t know what to do anymore!!
Thank you
Part 2 is set "private"
Look at pictures of a kitten, cary it with you, it works!
